Reject the ban on large-scale solar and wind in Richland County!
The Board of Richland County Commissioners approved a ban on future large-scale solar facilities and wind farms in 11 of 18 townships.
Before this ban, if a local farmer or large landowner in Richland County wanted to lease some of their land to a renewable energy company that would produce energy to be sold to an electric utility or co-op, the County would consider each proposed project on a case-by-case basis.
Today, landowners are banned from leasing their land for utility-scale projects. This referendum will give residents of Richland County the opportunity to vote no and reject the ban.
